Review summary

My comments above sum it up. I would not get on this boat again. I may use Royal Caribbean again after I make sure I read all pertinent reviews before I book a cruise. I was on Carnival, Holland America and Celebrity and they were far superior in all aspects.

Embarkation

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
Buffet, small, cheap looking, lots of unappetizing fried stuff (mainly indian in origin), terrible sauces full of salt and sugar, poor selection in everything, including fruits and veggies, suspicious looking and bland desserts. Coffee dispenser claimed Lavazza coffee, tasted anything but. Chops grill, Ok, nothing special about it. Main room food terrible, not inedible but not great. I tried almost all dishes with the same disappointment. The only above average dish was the steak. Desserts terrible. Latte-tudes was above average, and staff was great.

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
Gym weirdly placed at aft, small, cheap, not always clean, equipment wipes ran out before noon, machines (elliptical and treadmills not that many, few out of order always). Weight machines, maybe 1 for each muscle group, always taken. The poorest gym I've had, it undercut the desire to come exercise it gave the impression of a gym in a bad neighborhood.

Entertainment

2 out of 5
The only memorable show was the Argentinian Tango, the rest were subpar, musicians just Ok, singers average, the ones not shrieking. The 2 standup comedians were Ok. DJ also Ok. The Schooner Piano Bar guy from Jamaica, outstanding.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Room steward Ok, main room dining servers better than average. Most of the bartenders were not trained enough, cocktails were approximate, they would ALWAYS ask me if I wanted my Manhattan or my Cognac "on the rocks" It gave the impression they had no clue.

Ship Quality

2 out of 5
The ship looked and felt like a boat from the 70's, everything dated, cleanliness above average. Lots of parts rusted, peeled paint, poorly maintained.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Cabin was Ok, clean but outdated, cheap looking. The electrical outlet in the bathroom would not accomodate any US electrical plugs (shaver, water pik) The steward brought an extension cord that would not fit either. Balcony door handle wobbly giving the feel it would break at any time.

Ship tip

Avoid it. For the same money or cheaper there are better options.
