Review summary

First time cruising again after many, many years. I was hesitant but it has made me want to cruise more. Galveston is an easy port also for us Texans.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
super easy! everyone greeting us and welcoming us with smile!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Excellent - especially Faisol and Goran our wait staff

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
fitness center needs more no-charge experiences - I did the abs, morning stretch complementary classes and paid for the spin class (not worth it), just shorten it and make it complementary. Spa is amazing but too pricey for services...

Entertainment

4 out of 5
OK but all the various dancers, costume changes were too much - no need. The Broadway Hits was barely recognizable and other around me commented to the same - didn't recognize the songs. Tango Argentina was interesting but left early as it became the same stuff - perhaps add more history?

Children's Programs

no children brought with me/us

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Carol - room steward was amazing! So very friendly and happy, always made out day seeing her!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Yes - very impressed with layout and cleanliness. Made it easy to get around (we walked everywhere- never used stairs. Made it safer by NOT being in elevators and added activity.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Excellent - plenty of room to store luggage and move around. Loved the balcony. No motion concerns -even in gale force winds!

Ship tip

Great size - not too big, or too small. very easy to get around, up and down. Not overwhelming in size or crowds.

Ports of call

Galveston, Texas

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

1 out of 5
what a waste of time. Too bad it's not easier to get into the town. Need to help support the town more - not just the touristy trap it was. I will never choose an itinerary that stops at this port again.

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
No excursion - walked into town. So glad to see this has NOT become more commercial. It's still a very authentic Mexican location.

Disembarkation

Oh so very easy! We did self-assist...amazing how very easy it was! Thanks for adding this option!

They do a good job at Costa Maya port to keep you from finding the taxi stand. You can actually Google the instructions how to get there

Hard to avoid Costa Maya on cruises from Galveston. Great port to stay on the ship and enjoy the serenity.
