I think you take your chances with January cruises, sometimes the weather is nice and warm and other times not so much.

Research the ship before you book. Grandeur is a very old and small ship. If you have kids that need entertainment, you should have looked at ships that are newer and bigger. We love Grandeur, but we enjoy relaxing on our cruises.

It helps to match the cruise with your own expectations and needs. In our experience, RCCL isn’t great with young families, but is awesome with older children/young adults who don’t need to be entertained all the time. Plenty of other cruise lines who specialise in the younger family market.
