Cruise out of Baltimore. We were suppose to visit Port Canaveral, Nassau and CoCo Cay. However, they skipped Nassau all together and changed the whole itinerary. We were extremely disappointed.

Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
The food was decent. It did not compare in quality to the other cruises we have been on (Princess and Norwegian), it was more in line with cafeteria food.
Onboard Activities
2 out of 5
The pools were very cold, the only activity was a climbing wall on the very back of the ship and it was very small. The fitness center was decent but was dirty and had an odor.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
We really enjoyed the juggler/comedian but the headliner was not that great.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Our room steward and main waitress in the dining room were excellent. We felt like they all were trained to up sell services and products. Every day at breakfast and lunch, we had at least 3 staff interrupt up to ask us to purchase meals at the specialty restaurants. We utilized the spa and were pressured into purchasing products etc.
Ship Quality
2 out of 5
The ship was definitely warn and in dire need of updating. You could definitely tell that it was an older ship.
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
There were notes of the previous guests dissatisfaction in the folder they left in our room, there were earrings under the bed and the glass on the balcony doors was filthy, I had to wipe them down. All of the screws and rubber in the balcony were old and corroded. It had a feel of an old run down hotel.
They completely skipped this port which is the whole reason we selected this trip. I understand that they there was fog and weather they may have prevented us from leaving on time but they should have visited Nassau instead of Florida. So many of us had excursions scheduled. When visited their own private island, everyone was trying to sell you things etc. The route they took also ended up with us traveling on the east coast which resulted in the weather being very cold. We were extremely disappointed with this cruise. We have sailed on other cruises and this one was the absolute worst!
They have to travel the east coast. It is definitely a gamble with the weather during the winter. You have to be prepared for that and realize it’s not going to be very warm a few days or more.
Safety must come first. It’s not always easy for a cruise ship to just go to another port as docking space may not be available. Hopefully you had a good comprehensive travel insurance policy that compensated you for the missed ports and itinerary change.
We love the Grandeur and will miss her when she’s gone. Weather can be a crap shoot in January along the East Coast. That’s not the cruise line’s fault.
Sorry you were disappointed but the cruise line has no control over the weather. They skip ports for the safety of the passengers. The enjoyment of a cruise is what you make of it.
