Review summary

This was a fantastic cruise with a great itinerary.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Like every other embarking experience, we are cattle being corralled onto a ship, but we were on the ship in 45 minutes of getting in line. I can’t complain.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The food in the main dining room was excellent. No complaints.

Windjammer Marketplace

3 out of 5

Not a fan of the buffet food. I’ve had much better on other cruise lines.

Onboard Activities

Entertainment

5 out of 5
There was a fantastic band, the Blue Water band. They were awesome!! Entertained us with our requests. They were a highlight of the cruise. The cruise director, Cory, was hilarious. The magician and comics were all funny and entertaining. The RC dancers and singers were ok, but there is room for improvement.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
I had no complaints. The crew were terrific. The captain was funny and entertaining. The bar crew were all attentive and asked us frequently if we needed anything. The buffet staff kept our table cleaned off and brought us drinks. The dining room staff was friendly and attentive. Our cabin steward was great. He kept our room clean and cozy.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
While the ship is older and a bit dated, it was clean and tidy.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The room was clean. The bathroom is a bit smaller than other ships.

Ship tip

Get to events a little early. Getting a seat might be an issue.

Ports of call

Halifax, Nova Scotia

We walked the downtown area. We visited the maritime museum which was interesting. It has some titanic artifacts and Halifax has an interesting history. We ate at the Old Triangle which was delicious. We then walked up to the Citadel, and it is straight up hill so prepare yourself. Lol. The citadel was very interesting and is worth visiting.

Saint John, New Brunswick

Kind of boring. We walked to the reversing rapids. It’s water, nothing more. We walked to the market, I wish I lived near such a place. We ate at an outdoor pub. This wouldn’t be a port I would want to return.

Bar Harbor, Maine

5 out of 5
This was my favorite port. It’s absolutely beautiful. This was a tender port. We took a tour of Acadia National Park. We booked that excursion off the ship. We also just walked around to all the shops. We ate at Route 64 which was very good. We really enjoyed this port. I would go back here anytime.

Baltimore, Maryland

3 out of 5
Dirty city, I wasn’t impressed. Though I only saw the airport and the route to the ship.

Boston, Massachusetts

I will need to go back. Too much to do in such a short time. We booked our excursion off the ship. We took the trolly, and did the Freedom Trail. We ate at the No Name restaurant. While we were at this port until 11pm, all the attractions close at 5.

Portland, Maine

5 out of 5
A nice, laid back city. Great food and microbreweries. We ate at Dewey’s. Great food, music, and beer. We took a lighthouse tour. It was a good tour.

Disembarkation

We were off the ship quickly.
