Review summary

This was my first cruise and not knowing what to expect I was could not be more happier. From the excellent staff who knew our names from day 1 too the awesome food choices including the three restaurants. We were never hungry and our drinks were always filled. The room attendants were always courteous and had our rooms cleaned every day and turn down service was great. We loved the days at port including CocoCay (bring your ownsnorkel equipment  you will be in the water all day long). Amazing views every night and lots to do during the days at sea. RC really set the bar high for me on this trip and I am already looking to book another with them. Enjoy your trip I am sure you will have the same experience we did.

Thank you jilesgulf and all! I read that Park Place is a well-kept secret....especially for breakfast on the morning you disembark. Everyone goes to Windjammer and there's no room! Folks said they went to Park Place, and it was empty!

Going on the Grandeur for 12 days starting Oct 31, 2016. I have never cruised RCI. I'm getting excited.

Park Place Cafe is also free & has roast beef sandwiches to die for. Also has cookies, fruit, salad & stays open late at night with hot dogs , pizza , etc. You can also get breakfast there.

You should find all the info on RCI's website including the drink packages, and restaurants. Generally speaking the Main Dining room (MDR) and the windjamer are free. There are some free pizza places/cafes on the promanade as well.

Enjoy!

Hi! I'm leaving on the Grandeur on Aug 13 for Bermuda! My best friend is treating me for our 50th year of friendship "anniversary"! I have been reading a LOT of reviews about this ship....many not so good. Your comments having JUST cruised are very encouraging! I have some questions for any of you if you don't mind. First, how can I find more answers to questions like these? I can't seem to find a link that tells me.....where do you eat that's included? Do you have to pay extra for some restaurants? How does this work? We are wondering about the "all you can drink" option. At $9-11 a cocktail, this might be something we'd like to consider! Anyone know how much this costs? And the food....boy Oh boy!! Either a lot of people have very different taste buds or else this ship varies on quality from cruise to cruise. I'm not hearing ANYTHING good about dining.... Again, a link to answer these would be great, and your comments are greatly appreciated! Thank you!!

The staff on Grandeur is excellent. I've sailed on her 3 times with 4, 5 and 6 booked. I've been on other ships but always go back to Grandeur.

You're probably right!

eddiemac1    8 years ago

Funny thing is, you could sail her again and have a great time and I could and have a bad time.

eddiemac1-- If we ever meet on any of our travels, we'll tell you about the 1001 things that happened to us on that cruise. We still made the most of it. You get out of it what you put in to it. We just don't want to work so hard to have a good time in the future. In the meantime, I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree. 😎lol

I was on the westerdam too

We were on the Westerdam. Maybe it was that particular ship? NEVER AGAIN!

I had a great cruise on Holland America

jilesgulf    8 years ago

The 4 of us (2 couples) decided to try Holland America because we had heard that they catered to older passengers. What a mistake! The captain was very condescending to us & the food was horrible! Have you ever heard of anyone losing weight on a cruise? Well we did! We scurried right back to Royal Caribbean & that's where we'll stay!! Lesson learned.😎

Exactly jamnbri, this'll be my third cruise with Royal. I'm not the least bit worried because I know everything will be just fine. Plus, when you factor in Crown & Anchor benefits, why would you leave?

jamnbri    8 years ago

Royal treats you like royality and have great staff, beautiful ships and excellent services...it is soo hard to try other lines NCL, Carnival bc of the quality provided on RC line..I agree 100% about the bar set high...you won't be disappointed on Royal!!

I can't wait, will be on her in September. It'll be my wife's first cruise, my third (first on Grandeur). I totally feel, this is a great ship for a "first cruise", it would be too overwhelming if we were on a floating city like Oasis.

Royal Caribbean is awesome I did 10 night southern Caribbean in April on Grandure very nice Cruise. January will be 9 night southern Caribbean on Navigator. 170 days to go!

Yup grandeur got me the same way. 11 days and I'm back at sea.
