Review summary

Overall enjoyed the trip but a few issues:

-Spent over 2 hours parking and getting on ship.  Need to open more booths to take payment for parking.  Seemed like we would get through one long line just to stop and have to wait in another line.  Line to get seapass, line to get wristbands for kids, line to schedule 'my time' dining, etc.

-They were doing some sort of work inside and outside of the Viking Lounge so there were drills and sanders, hammering etc. making a lot of noise in the lounge and by the pool.  The very front of the lounge was closed so you couldn't get a straight view out the front of the ship.

-Ship was clean, but it is old and needs some refurbishing (but not while there are paying customers cruising!)

-Line to get off the ship in Bermuda was very long (went up to the 5th deck) and didn't move very fast.  Need to do something to get people off the ship faster.

-Food in the Windjammer was OK.

The good -

-Had a mani and pedi in the spa that was great!

-Food and service in the main dining room was excellent.

-Room attendant was very nice and did a great job!

I was on the ship during the construction and it was far from enjoyable or relaxing. Kind of difficult to enjoy yourself on a construction site. They could have been working on the repairs overnight while guests were not using the only outdoor pool.

Thank you for this good info!

You don't have to but that way you don't have to wait if there is a line. We schedule when we eat around the shore excursions and when we think the shows will be. We won't know when the shows will begin until we get aboard. You can call RCCL directly, schedule on line, or go to My Time when you get on board.

I thought my time dining was you could eat when you wanted to. Do you have to schedule your meals?

It's so easy to complain about your bad experiences but even easier to enjoy yourself!

We were on in the spring and a gust of wind threw a deck chair which broke a window. This was right under the lounge. They may have been doing unexpected repairs like this. Make the most of your vacation, beats being at work!

You can schedule My Time Dining on line or call them directly before leaving home. I do it 3 months out so I can get what I want. The drilling & sanding is something that won't wait for the refit next April. It was unexpected & we were told they hated for the passengers to have to endure the noise but they had no choice. We get to the ship by 10:30 or 11 to avoid the lines. Work the system. Lol

On my last cruise on the Grandeur, from the time the shuttle dropped me off in front of the terminal, it took 15 minutes to be at the Schooner Bar. It is unfortunate that they must do maintenance on the ship. The ships do not make any money while they are down for repairs.
