Grandeur of the Seas

8 Night Bahamas (Baltimore Roundtrip)

Sail date: November 21, 2014

Ship: Grandeur of the Seas

Cabin type: Oceanview

Traveled as: Family (older children)

Reviewed: 8 years ago

Review summary

The ship was very dated and the beds were horrible. Everyday we woke up hardly able to move. The food left a lot to be desired in the buffet. We had been on another cruise line and loved it so coming onto an old dated ship was a huge disappointment

We have been on 7 cruises--6 of them on RCCL & Grandeur is one of our favorite ships. The crew was an absolute delight. They created such a pleasant atmosphere on the ship. We're cruising on her again Apr. 9, 2016 & all three couples are really looking forward to it. Sorry u were so disappointed.

Is Grandeur as nice as Oasis, liberty, or any of the larger ships no ,but she has her pluses as well. We like the smaller ships. They have there own appeal. And the biggest plus is less people. We will be back on her in March.

the older and smaller ships have less to do, get an older clientele, but sometimes these old tugs have nicer itineraries. We've done Grandeur, 9 nights and agree there isn't much to her, but the itinerary we had was a once in a lifetime repositioning that brought her to her then new homeport of Baltimore, it was one of our favorite s for itineraries

We have cruised on the Granduer several times and have found it a wonderful ship. Our cabins were very comfortable and the food and service were excellent

We are relatively new to cruising, but we are hesitant to book on the older vessels. Thus far our have been the newest class on both NCL and Carnival. We have found them all to be a great value. The cabins may be smaller and less comfortable than a Florida villa - but the entire experience tops any land vacation we have ever taken.
