Review summary

The cabin was as expected and cabin service in particular was exemplary.

the full shows were very good, areobatics and dancers absolutly great. The sing along type shows left much to be desired unless you are a kareoke fan.

The food was plentiful and worth the trip on its own from the dining room to the snack bar in the solarium. I would recomend that all take supper in the main dining room as a standard. The food was well prepared but a bit bland for my tastes but I'm not counting off for that as I like spicy food a lot.

The timing in the port of bermuda was poor for our cruse date as it was a bank holidy on the only full day at port. the cruse like provided very sketchy info as to what was open and times of transport to us. Thankfuly, the Bermuda authoritys stepped in and ran beach special buses to many popular beach destinations that ran regularly when full.

Our biggest, really only issue overshadowing the entire experience was with HOW an obnoxious oder outside our stateroom was handled. To us it was very obviously pot smoke from an adjacent state room and felt like running a gauntlet to get from the stair lobby to the room. Our first complaint was not even on the record when we inquired the next day. The second complaint we were told that the security in fact  smelled an oder similar to marijuana just as we described but could not locate the source. The third complaint we were reported to directly by 2 ship security personel whom reported to us that it was/had been just a food oder from room service. During fourth complaint, occurring over 3-4 days at repeated spikes in the oder, we were informed by several fairly high ranking ship personel in a private meeting and after an ispection of our state room, that the oder had been reported and investigated on past cruses, not just by us and that they were 200% positive it was not marijuana but a combination of smells from the HVAC system in only one hall that simply smelled like marijuana (and aparently only when the adjacent state room door was opened). It should be said that the hall was a small loop off of the main halls so was internal and sort of secluded from general traffic flow. All the time, the cruse line personel was offeriing 10%. 15% etc off our next cruse as a "buy off". We did not accept, told them to use the money to buy a dog to locate the source, and ask only that they follow up with us with an official report/source after their investigation was completed between cruises. After several weeks now not only has there has been absolutely zero follow up, Royal Carabean did not even send us an official review to fill out which we were told would be sent out via e-mail within 48hrs. I guess if you done want a bad review, do not send some one with a legitimate complaint a review to fill out. Seems to work for them anyway.

Just FYI, The cruise line will not follow up on reports from passengers post cruise for any reason (unless the issue was a maritime legality issue) especially when they feel the issue has been acknowledged and the source uncovered and resolved to the best of their ability. They stated that the issue had been reported prior to your cruise, so it is a known issue. I don't see why you would think they would lie about it. Sometimes, if parts need to be ordered to correct the issue, they have to be shipped and with the vessel constantly cruising, they have to wait until their in their homeport to receive and install the part. They offered you a discount on a future cruise, though I feel they should have offered you OBC (On-Board Credit) for the cruise you were on, so I personally feel they did the best they could regarding a situation that they were aware of. I would recommend you write (not email) a letter to the RCCL corporate office explaining exactly what you have described. Although, I'm afraid they won't offer you anything more than a discount on a future cruise as well. I have been on 10 cruises (the last two on RCCL) and never received a post cruise questionnaire so don't feel singled out. They don't send them to everybody I guess.
