Grandeur of the Seas Cruise Reviews - Q&A

4.0
Cruising at the end of May to Grand Cayman, Jamaica and Labadee, Haiti. Leaving from Florida. Does anyone know if a certified birth certificate from my birth county & a drivers license is accepted for boarding instead of a passport?

If you are not a United States citizen, then a passport is required.

if it is a closed loop cruise, you don't need a passport. that means departing from and returning to the same port. passports are not required when departing the ship in ports of call

(1) Please read the details in your contract. Some cruises may REQUIRE a passport.

From Royal Caribbean: For sailings departing from U.S. homeports, an official US state-issued Birth Certificate is also accepted. Guests age 16 and older that present an official US state-issued Birth Certificate will also need to provide a valid Driver’s License or picture ID issued by the government.

(2) There was a story a few weeks ago about people who were refused boarding that didn't have Passports. They called the cruise Co, thought picture ID & BC were okay. However, they did not tell the Rep the cruise they were on.
