I thought this cruise was wonderful. We had excellent weather except for one day--our last full day at sea the wind was blowing and the waves were large. This is only my second cruise so I'm just getting the hang of it. Can't wait to go again!
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Was a very crowded pier (#27), but as soon as we got out of the car the line was always moving. Took us about an hour from curb to ship.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
We chose anytime dining and only opted out (for pizza) one dinner. Food and service were excellent. Only suggestions would be for the buffet to be open until midnight and have some snacks (crackers, chips, candy) available in one of the shops or through room service. The only appetizers available from room service were at an extra cost.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
We mostly hung out at the pools and they were awesome. One suggestion is to have music playing through the big screen when a movie is not being shown.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
Pretty good shows--something for everyone.

Ship tip
Wear comfortable shoes at all times and be ready to take the stairs--the elevators are slow and packed.
Nice port, even though we had to tender in. The excursion (Montecito Stars and History) was awful. We had hoped for more history and less star searching but the bus driver drove us around the Montecito hills to look at famous peoples' gates. A couple would have been fine but we did this for over an hour! After showing us some beautiful restaurants, he dropped us off at a strip mall for 40 minutes. We ended up eating sandwiches from the Von's grocery store. Oh, and the fig tree, we drove past it--didn't even get to get off the bus to take a picture. I was never so happy to return to the ship!
Beautiful port and we were docked right next the Midway. We went to Balboa Park, which was wonderful. We had a choice of 4 museums. Had a good lunch at Panama 66. A lot of walking and didn't even see half of the park.
Ensenada was nice and if you didn't feel like going into town there was a fairly large marketplace right off the ship. We went to the downtown civic center on our way to La Bufadora (the blow hole). Could have skipped the civic center and spent more time at La Bufadora, where there were plenty of vendors selling their goods. Had the best fish and shrimp tacos EVER--homemade tortillas were awesome.
Disembarkation was a breeze. We were originally scheduled to leave the ship at 10:00 am but we switched to a 9:00 am without any trouble at all. We had to be out of our room at 8:00 so waited in the Vista Lounge until our time slot was called. We actually were able to disembark around 8:45, and were out of customs and on land by about 9:10. Called an Uber to take us to the ferry building, where we took a ferry back to Vallejo. It was so easy!!!!!
