Review summary

This cruise was awesome if you really want to learn about the Hawaiian culture. They have Hawaiian ambassadors on board a husband and wife and they are awesome. They perform Hawaiian music several times a day, the husband teaches ukulele classes on sea days and the wife teaches Hula classes. The wife also has Hawaiian craft classes such as lei making, jewelry making, and she also teaches about the Hawaiian culture, language, and about each island tradition. Hawaii was beautiful of course, but having the Hawaiian ambassadors on board really enriched the whole trip.

This is a mini suite, nice quiet location but not too far from stairs and elevators. I loved my home away from home.

We took a taxi tour by a local Hawaiian, this was a wonderful option for us, it wasn't a ship excursion, just a local guy. We spent about 3 hours driving around the island taking pictures and he showed us all the sites. Much cheaper than any ship excursion and we got the "real" feel of the island. Cost $50 for 2.

We didn't have an excursion booked for this but took a taxi to Pearl Harbor and looked around on our own, again much cheaper than going with a ship excursion and then we took a taxi around the island and saw a lot of the main sites. I feel I saw a lot more than I would have on a ship excursion, and paid a fraction of the cost.

Did not even get off the ship, didn't feel it was safe. The people that did get off the ship, didn't have good things to say about this port. It was very nice having the ship to myself while most of the people were on shore.
