Great cruise on imperfect ship but we would still recommend Princess for their great service.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
MDR food was just ok. I actually thought the buffet food was better. Lots of variety and interesting foods. MDR portions were pretty small and I'm a petite woman who doesn't need a lot to be satisfied.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Used gym and adults only hot tub and dry sauna. Nice.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Production shows were entertaining. Comedian Derrick Cameron was HYSTERICAL. Don't miss him. Great shows and no foul language. Very talented.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Amazing service throughout the ship but the standouts were in the Horizon buffet. Even brought us our drinks from the bar.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The ship is old and the previous bad reviews about major plumbing problems had us worried. But things had obviously improved by our July cruise. There was a weird smell near the Wheelhouse Lounge and there were a few buckets around catching leaks but nothing bad enough to spoil the beauty of Alaska. The public areas were attractive and in good shape.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Comfortable room with plenty of storage. Not as roomy as mini-suites on newer ships but adequate. Very comfortable bed, Marlyn our room steward was wonderful. Decor is drab and needs updating. Lots of wear obvious.

Ship tip

I would not choose this ship again but if you are already booked, don't worry like I did. We totally enjoyed ourselves.

Fair comments dwtb. I loved my 35 nights on her, and I truly can't wait to get back with the old girl :-)

3000 people every 7 days all year long. that's alot of toilets to flush. the maintenance would be unbelievable. when is a ship too big? Also salt water is metals worst enemy.

The ship is old and it shows in cabins and hallways. Quarter sized chips of rust and paint fell on our balcony throughout cruise. Our cabin had a urine smell at first but got better since we had mild weather and were able to leave balcony door open. Some passengers I talked to had toilet problems. Thankfully, not us.
