Review summary
The land tour with Bruce (our tour director) was fabulous. Bruce and Danny were wonderful, very informative and made this part of the trip extremely enjoyable. The cruise portion was also fabulous and we enjoyed the glaciers, on ship activities and staff and crew were great. The land excursions were good but depending on which you took it could become a little rushed. I would and already have recommended this vacation to others. It was a vacation of a lifetime. The only negative was our transport to the Seattle Airport. This was almost a nightmare. Please excuse the following long explanation, but inportant to paint the picture. The driver left port before the bus was marked/sealed as coming from an American Ship and thus we got delayed 2+ hours at customs where we all had to get off the bus and individually stand in line with luggage and go through customs. Once we got through naturally many needed to use the facilities. This disturbed the driver that we had to wait for people and he even got off the bus to get them. We felt this was rude. On the way to the airport he pulled into a rest stop, got off (saying nothing to us) and left the bus running as he went to the restroom. A couple of people seeing what he was doing decided to also take this opportunity. When the driver got back on the bus he started to move the bus. Only after people screamed that others were not on the bus did he say he knew and was just moving the bus up closer. Through the trip we had heavy traffic and the driver would often not gauge his speed and make very sudden stops throwing passengers forward. As we approached the airport we got caught in stop and go traffic due to an accident on the highway. The driver proceeded to miss the exit and had to go around again through the accident traffic. He then missed the correct lane within the airport and had to circle around again, getting on the highway and going through the traffic a third time. After over 1hour of circling the airport, we finally made it to the drop off point around 3:00. Several people on the bus had flights within the hour. Passengers ended up helping with getting the luggage off so these people had a chance to catch their flights. Through all of this the driver basically said nothing except at the end to say it had been awhile since he was at the Seattle Airport. I do not hold this against Princess Cruise but thought you should be aware. Thanks for making my long time dream vacation come true.Embarkation
