Good cruise, beautiful sights!

Sail Date: May 22, 2010

Traveled As: Large Group

Room Type: Oceanview

The ship was beautiful but had a few flaws. The theaters were too small to accommodate all of the people. The buffett was very disorganized. No one way in or out and not enough drink stations. Need drink stations on the decks outside besides inside. On formal nights there should be at least one dining room you can eat in if you don't want to go the formal route. Also, the dining room staff was not very friendly. The room steward was awesome and our room was great for a cruiseship. They also didn't have enough onboard activities catered to the everyday person. All activities seemed to be centered around the upper class only. Carnival has these areas covered much better.

Pros: the ports

Cons: not enough onboard activities

Recommends Golden Princess? No.

Entertainment
Not enough activities onboard. The theaters were too small.
Ship Quality
The ship was kept very clean. It was a little hard to find the bathrooms.
Food and Dining
Food was ok. I liked the anytime dining. not enough drink stations. Carnival had better food
Cabin / Stateroom
The room was more spacious than I thought it would be. Very nice.
Service and Staff
Most of the ships staff was very accommodating. The dining room staff seemed to be a little on the rude side.
Ketchikan, Alaska
Had great weather and just walked around the town. Very scenic, great pictures
Don't Miss: Creek Street
Skagway, Alaska
Fantastic excursion that entailed the train ride, bus tour, lunch and gold panning. Go to the Red Onion Saloon! Great nachos!
Don't Miss: white pass train ride
Juneau, Alaska
Didn't get to walk into town because we took a long excursion. The whale watching tour and mendenhall glacier are a must see.
Don't Miss: the whale watching tour
