Review summary

The Golden Princess felt very new, since it had just come out of dry-dock a few weeks prior to our cruise. The crew was fabulous, and made all passengers feel very special.

Didn't have a very long time in Ketchikan. A lovely town. I actually have a friend who lives there who showed us around. Went to the edge of town to a little log cabin resort, and saw LOTS of eagles! Beautiful!

Fun shopping. The Mendenhall Glacier was beautiful! Salmon Bake was fabulous! It is worth it to forgo a meal on the ship to do the Salmon Bake! Red Dog Saloon is fun!
Don't Miss: Mendenhall Glacier

Victoria, British Columbia

Again, not a very long time here, but there was time to see Butchart Gardens due to the longer daylight hours and the illumination of the gardens at night. Beautiful!
Don't Miss: Butchart Gardens

Skagway, Alaska

Take the train trip. We did the one that is about 3 1/2 hours, and that is a good amount of time. Scenery is incredible.
Don't Miss: Train Trip!

Pros: Viewing the beautiful geography of Alaska.

Cons: The smoky casino on the ship!
