This ship needs to be refurbished...there are many rooms that are not in good condition plus the ship is drab. We had sailed on the sister ship the Grand and loved it. This is why we selected the Golden, however we were disappointed to say the least. Our room was mildewed, and the furniture was worn and stained We payed for a Mini Suite and got a handicapped room with twins that will not convert to King. We had looked forward to a bath tub and this room only has a shower. We did get our room changed but had to get a balcony instead of the mini suite we were looking forward to. The food was o.k but not great and the staff was not friendly.

The mexican vendors are obnoxious and are in your face all the time in the public areas and beaches. It was almost laughable how many times we were going to get a good deal! THe hotels warn you NOT TO BUY on the beach. Some items are overpriced. The ship warns you not to drink liquor now due to people getting sick from grain alcohol being used. Several people on the ship had the experience 1st hand and were sick drink from un marked bottles. We stuck to the BEER and we were fine.
Don't Miss: Swimming with the sea lions

We liked Mazatlan better than Puerto although there are the Time Share people and the same obnoxious vendors here too!

Loved Cabo....the Beach, restaurants on the Beach, the beautiful rock formations. You cannot miss going to Los arcos...the whole area is great if you like kayaking, snorkeling, boating etc. This is by far the BEST port and Princess spends the LEAST time here.
Don't Miss: Los Arcos and whale watching "in season"

Pros: Embarkation and debarkation...very smooth and efficient. Nice entertainment, plenty to do.

Cons: Food is o.k. at best, Staff indifferent, Ship needs a remodel. Our room was D733 and was supposed to be a Mini Suite however it was a narrow, mildewed, twin bed Handicap room with out a bath. The staff need some tips on good customer service, and should be friendlier.

Recommends Golden Princess? No.
