Review summary

The boat is huge!  There are so many things going on every day that you are never bored.  Nightly entertainment was fantastic except for the ice show.  I'd skip that next time.  Free Starbucks was great, and the food was pretty good.  We ate in the Italian specialty restaurant one night and was disappointed in the service and ambiance of the venue, but the food was great.  Our biggest surprise was with the dress code, or lack thereof, in the main dining room.  Even though RC states that shorts and t-shirts are not permitted, people were dressed in cargo short, flip flops, and football (US and EU) every night.  Even on the 2 formal nights people were in jeans and untucked polo shirts.  I thought RC had higher standards.  Other than this issue, the cruise was fantastic.  We will cruise with RC again.

Ship tip

For a good quick lunch, go to the Starbucks. Their sandwiches are good and free.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

Stay at the Holiday Inn Club Vacations in Port Canaveral before the cruise. They offer parking while you are on the cruise and have a very cheap shuttle company they work with. They are about 1/2 mile away from the boat.

Hey tntfi how about you jumping overboard with all of your supporters who do not respect ship policy which is for all passengers if you do not love it leave it the cruise is not yours or mine it is for all of us nobody forced you to come on board and if we do not follow policy we become animals which obviously you are so get off the ship

Best thing since the mile high club.

I really need to spend the extra money for a balcony!!'n

batch123    8 years ago

Pambam... Lol. Love it. We're always naked on our balcony at least. Gotta join the balcony club on every cruise.

I get what you're saying but the thing is they have rules for how you should dress in the main dining room. On land an upscale restaurant wouldn't let you in the way many people choose to dress. I just think that rule should be enforced on a cruise. The people who want to dress down can do it but they would do it at more appropriate venues.

Yeah, I will be going on a cruise soon! I will wear what I want to wear and not let what people are wearing or not wearing bother me.

I'm not worked up at all. You posted a couple of ugly comments and you're proud of it. I'm just responding. Don't pat yourself on the back. You aren't that smart.

batch123    8 years ago

I love how you're all worked up now. All too easy. Winning...duh.

jimnkathy    8 years ago

I get it. You don't feel good about yourself because you aren't very smart so you try to cover it up by being an abrasive ass. It's ok. I understand. You should seek therapy though. Somebody else might be offended by your inability to conduct yourself in civil manner when you're dealing with the outside world.

jimnkathy    8 years ago

It's not a matter if dressing up like anybody. It's a matter of having good manners and a little bit if class. Your ugly comment indicates you may be the one with deeply rooted psychological and prejudice issues.

kbduck    8 years ago

No ma'am, that's not safe to assume.

batch123    8 years ago

Dress how you want. Eat where you want. Makes no difference. Everyone paid for their own cruise and are entitled to the same goods and services no matter how dressed. If you actually feel disrespected because someone doesn't dress up like you, its safe to say you have some serious and deep rooted psychological and prejudice issues.

I agree formal means formal if you do not like to dress up do not go to fine dinning go to windjammer and stay there

edwardchr    8 years ago

What do you mean "free Starbucks" ? Are they included with the ultimate drink packages?

ritarn    8 years ago

I also bought special clothes for formal night and I want to dress appropriately. Thats why I chose RC over Carnival. I wanted a more dressy cruise.

jamesbolling    8 years ago

Agree if you don't want to dress up go to the windjammer

kbduck    8 years ago

I agree. Not adhering to the dress code is disrespectful to everyone else who wants the experience to rate higher than Spring Break at the beach.

jimnkathy    8 years ago

I agree that the dress code should be enforced in the main dining room. Especially on formal night. While it is true that it's a vacation you should still have a little class. When you're on land you wouldn't be allowed to wear jeans or cargo shorts in an elegant restaurant. I don't understand why that concept is so difficult for some people.

We totally enjoyed the ice show! However, we agree if you wish to dress in shorts, t-shirts, very casual attire, eat at the other options instead of the main dining room especially on formal nights.

It was nice to dress up. I didnt see anyone there not dressed up at 8 pm sitting ?

newtraveler    8 years ago

If its a dress up night- it does matter. Just eat at the buffet if you don't want to dress up. Its just a special night for those of us who enjoy that sort of thing.

batch123    8 years ago

Why do people care what others wear? So stupid. It's a cruise vacation, not a funeral.

diskwizz    8 years ago

I agree with the dress code. Either have it or don't. But if you do have it make sure people stick to it
