I don't know if I'd risk it. just today, I think I'm Ireland, the carnival pride had to leave early due to bad weather approaching. could you imagine if you decided to leave your kids in the ship while you went into port and had to return to the ship early, but had no idea, only to come back and see the ship gone? why risk it? you're on a cruise for a family vacation and wanna dump the kids? (not saying you, but some do)

From what I find on Google, if your kids are in one of the kids programs they offer then yes. Honestly I was surprised. I’d check with the cruise company directly to. Inform before I banked on that being the case.

The answer is yes. My three cents ADDED to your answer is that I’d be mindful of the inherent risks associated with doing so. Things happen and you have to plan for the unexpected. My daughter will be enrolled in camp but I assured her that when we get to port we are both getting off because if something happens to me I can’t risk her being on the ship and sailing off without me. Also, although passports aren’t required, take yours if you have one. If something happens to you in port and you need to stay behind for any reason, you’re on your own.

we left my 3 yo niece onboard when we went cave tubing in Belize and it was great! she loved it and we were free to enjoy our day! she cried when we picked her up bc she didn't want to leave.
