Explorer is scheduled for dry dock in the Spring. Not sure why you were surprised by lots of children in mid-December. Many schools are out at that time, plus many are home-schooled as well. As far as not having the specific pier on your documents, that can sometimes change, but is easy to find with a quick internet search the day of your cruise or prior. As far as debarkation, it’s always best to take your own luggage and use self-debarkation. You will be on of the first groups off, not have to search for your bags and there will be little or no line at Customs.
