Review summary

Gorgeous sunny weather all week made this a great first cruise. Crew and staff were pleasant. The beverage and photo packages were worth it.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
we boarded at the end so avoided the crowd

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
lots of variety in the main dining hall and the buffet; specialty restaurants are okay for a change but not great.

Main Dining Room

4 out of 5

Nice servers, good but rich food, and a pleasant atmosphere. We had the eat anytime slot so did not have to wait in the long lines.

Café Promenade

3 out of 5

Nice to have access to tea/ coffee and snacks 24-hours. Food (pizza, rolls, sweets) was okay.

Windjammer Marketplace

5 out of 5

Great ocean views, wide variety of foods, energetic staff making sure everyone uses hand sanitizer before going in to eat. Attentive staff to help find seat, take drink orders, and clear your plate.

Crown & Kettle Pub

4 out of 5

Nice central place to have a drink, listen to classical music and songs by request performances.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5

Art and Photo Gallery

3 out of 5

Appreciated the screening of a Dali film in collaboration with Disney.

Jogging Track

3 out of 5

Nice to walk around it on sunny days but it would be very crowded.

Spa and Fitness Center

4 out of 5

Spa prices were high, but I appreciated the complementary abs class.

Entertainment

3 out of 5

Studio B

4 out of 5

Watched the ice skating show in here and it was cozy and had good views from the back tables.

Palace Theatre

3 out of 5

Good for performances, but the video projector needs to be upgraded. It was terrible to see a movie in this theater.

Library & Card Room

2 out of 5

Book selection was terrible, and the playing cards were all a jumbled mess of sticky cards.

Children's Programs

3 out of 5
they loved the self-serve ice cream machine, ice skating show, the pool, and rock climbing wall.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
room steward was very friendly and helpful, as were some of the dining hall staff. A few others seemed too new and did not know their own way around the ship.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
very clean ship and easy to get around with interactive board on every deck to check map and events.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5

Ship tip

the All Access Tour was interesting to see the behind the scenes workers, spaces, and activities.

Ports of call

Juneau, Alaska

5 out of 5
helicopter ride and walk on glacier is a must do.

Skagway, Alaska

4 out of 5
White Summit train ride was interesting.

Victoria, British Columbia

4 out of 5
Butchard Gardens is pleasant to visit, but the tea was not worth the time that could have been spent in the garden itself.
