Review summary

I love RCCL. I love ‘Voyager’ class ships. Explorer needs some big time cleaning work and every cruise itinerary should be treated equally. We truly felt like they were killing a week with us before their big 23 nite itinerary. PNW Cruises beats the heck out of repetitive Caribbean, Mexico, Bahamas etc. There should be more of them year round. Central to Northern East Coast would work too. Many don’t need 90s and sun and beaches for cruising.

Super simple we were onboard very quickly.t

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

This was Explorers last itinerary before an ocean crossing. We felt like the ones who were to finish everything off before they got ready for company. Leftover everything, from food to tee shirts.

Entertainment

Cruise Director was funny, charming. The RC singers and dancers talented and their shows lots of fun. The comedians ranged from somwhat funny to outright lame....sorry they didn’t do much for me. Sad because past ones were so great we still laugh thinking of them. We laughed way more in the piano bar.As always

Service and Staff

Up to RC’s usual standards

Ship Quality

This ship needs a HUGE scrubbing inside. I’d read that there were some unpleasant odors and thought it probably wasn’t true. It is. There’s a prevailing musty odor throughout and some places are worse then others but it is there. Our tiny bathroom(as always)this time always smelled slightly like a public restroom. After many cruises this is the 1st time I have to say it never smelled clean -toilet nor shower.

Cabin / Stateroom

As long as you don’t mind vibrations of the engines(I don’t) the stern is very peaceful and the views are great. NOTE: this cabin has a single door NOT a sliding glass window, just FYI.

Ship tip

Possibly don’t take a transitional itinerary.LOVE

Ports of call

Seattle, Washington

Love Seattle!

Astoria, Oregon

Great port, the RC excursion Shots....don’t it’ll take up your entire day(especially when they made us come back to see the ice show while still in port) and mostly named movies I’d never heard of. Go explore on your own, I did a previous time. Much better.

San Francisco, California

Soooooo gorgeous, so much to see and do! Grateful for the overnight. Get a HOP ON HOP OFF CITY SIGHTSEEING pass, you’ll be glad you did.

Victoria, British Columbia

Disembarkation

Well I personally had a ridiculous snag....outcome to be worked on. Otherwise quite smooth.

Schooner Bar’s Piano Man is brilliant!
