Review summary

The cruise with Royal was great. Other than Astoria, OR, I enjoyed all of the ports visited. Check in and departure was very well organized. In years past, it was chaotic but Royal has finally got it down to a science. Will definitely cruise with them again if the itinerary fits our travel plans.

We had My Time Dining. First time we tried this. I prefer the seated times but it was waitlisted. My Time Dining is confusing. We never had the same waitstaff. First day, we had a long wait that we gave up and went to the Windjammer instead.

Onboard Activities

use the hot tub. Very relaxing and temperature was just perfect.

Entertainment

Stage shows were okay. Royal has had better shows. The guy at the Schooner bar was entertaining.

Service and Staff

Frank, the bartender at the Crown and Kettle Pub on Deck 5 was outstanding. He was attentive and had our drinks ready every time. Kudos to Frank. He rates a 10 in service.

Ship Quality

Having been on the Explorrer a few times, it was like coming home again. This ship is very special to us as we did our very first cruise on this ship. Common areas were very well maintained and cleaned. Always saw so,done cleaning around the ship.
