What a wonderful cruise

Sail Date: October 13, 2011

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Inside

This was our first cruise with Royal Caribbean International, and we were impressed by the pristine condition of the ship and the friendliness and professionalism of the crew. We went on excursions in four of the five ports of call through the cruise line and found them to be reasonably priced, led by well qualified tour guides and bus drivers, and thoroughly enjoyable and informative. We were very pleased with all aspects of the cruise and will travel with Royal Caribbean again.

Pros: We enjoyed the ports of call, the food, and the evening shows

Cons: Several of the shipboard activities were not as interesting as hoped

Recommends Explorer of the Seas? Yes!

Food and Dining
The food was very good, overall.
The evening shows are very professional - some very funny comedians and very talented singers and dancers. We found some "hits" and "misses" with the classes offered.
Ship Quality
Big, beautiful, very clean and well taken care of
Service and Staff
Cabin / Stateroom
We go for the interior staterooms because we'd rather spend our money on excursions. We were pleased with the design, condition, cleanliness and functionality of our room.
Saint John, New Brunswick
This little town really makes cruisers feel welcome. We visited the Bay of Fundy and toured the town.
Portland, Maine
We enjoyed a tour of the town, Kennebunk and Kennebunkport.
Bar Harbor, Maine
We really enjoyed the Lobster Bake and tour of the town and Acadia National Park
Boston, Massachusetts
The Revolutionary Tour with visits to Lexington and Concord was a must for history buffs
Halifax, Nova Scotia
This is a beautiful town. The Citadel and Peggy's Cove are must sees
