Review summary

This was a last minute booking for a short cruise. We never cruised less than seven days before. We set our expectations low so we wouldn’t be disappointed but happy to say we had fun and enjoyed every minute.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation took 35 minutes from getting in line at 10 AM until on board ship.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We ate all of our meals in the Windjammer this cruise except for quick lunches from the Park Cafe. All of the food was good as well as the variety. We noticed that the desserts have improved from past cruises and have more flavor to them.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We enjoy just sitting back and relaxing on our cruises so we don’t participate in many activities other than the pools. I think there enough things to keep everyone engaged but some may become bored. The rock climbing wall was only open a limited amount of time due to high winds and one of the main pools had to be drained on the final sea day.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We enjoyed the entertainment on this trip. A comedian, a magician, and the ship’s singers and dancers who were fantastic! The singer Amanda was outstanding!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
All of the crew are friendly and accommodating. It is obvious that the ship is short staffed and additional pressure is on them to provide the same amount of service. Our room steward Antha was great!

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Staffing shortages have become obvious in the maintenance of the ship. The ever occurring rust on the outer decks has not been addressed. The big screen on the pool deck did not function all week. The public restrooms are not kept as clean as pre covid. The deck railings have not been varnished for quite some time. This is not a reflection on the crew because they all work very hard but rather on insufficient staff.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
This is the first time staying in an interior cabin. We were in a suite on our last cruise so not sure what to expect. We discovered that the cruise is not about the size of the room for us. Yes the cabin is small but sufficient for storage and moving about. We will probably consider an interior in the future. I don’t think it would work as well for more than two people.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Disembarkation was quick and easy. We left the ship at our assigned time and breezed through customs without stopping. 10 minutes from the Spotlight Lounge to the parking lot!
