We did enjoy the relaxation of a sea cruise and the staff was our favorite thing, but the amount of walking required will make it unlikely that I will ever do it again.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
The staff was very organized and very pleasant. We found our stateroom with no problems. The ship sailed on time.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Very clean, well organized. The food was delicious and plentiful. But the staff was the real bonus. They were friendly, attentive and always available when needed. Kudos to our waiters, Reynaldo, Miguel and Alexander.
Onboard Activities
2 out of 5
The pools did not open until 8 AM. I need a morning swim for my arthritis. The Solarium pool was very cold. I used it for two days and then couldn't tolerate it anymore. There was only me in the pool and I can understand why. Why was it kept so cold?
Entertainment
5 out of 5
The musical reviews in the theater were wonderful. We enjoyed the talented and energetic young people who performed for us. The musicians at the Bolero were great too.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Our room attendant, Dindo, was wonderful. Not only was he prompt, he was truly concerned for our welfare. Our room was always clean and he was always available. Our dining staff was also very wonderful. Reynaldo and Miguel were truly joyful people and we enjoyed our time with them very much.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Everything was clean and well kept. The pool deck was spilled on all the time and there was always someone there to fix it and keep it safe. That's a really hard job.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
The cabin was small and the shower was hilariously small. But that was our choice. Dindo always kept it clean and easy to move around it. The beds were very nice, and rocking to sleep with the movement of the ship was a dream.
Ship tip
Please tell people about how much walking is required on a ship, My knees are old and achy and I had to walk a half a block just to get a drink of water. You need to tell people that there is a lot of walking required.
We did the dolphin experience and some snorkeling. Again getting off and back on the ship requires A LOT OF WALKING. The outing was fantastic and worth the trip.
You need to communicate better with the passengers when they will be getting off the boat. We waited for two hours for our turn; no bathroom close by, no services available. Let people know that they still have time to exercise, have a drink or something to pass the time. We were among the last 50 passengers off the boat.
You'll find there's generally a lot of walking on any cruise. A good idea might be to start walking a little bit around your neighborhood to build your strength up.
Second, most of the time, the Debarkation instructions are clearly written on your Activities Schedule the day before debarking the ship for the last time. I would suggest reading that and then if you have any further questions about debarking, go to Customer Service on the ship...that's what they're there for!
