I chose this itinerary and ship for my family, because we had a good mix of first timers and more seasoned cruisers in our party. This cruise represented excellent value for the money. For our next one, we’ll likely try out one of their bigger ships with more bells and whistles, now that everyone has one cruise under their belts. The Independence OTS was docked next to use in Cozumel, and everybody kept talking about how amazing it looked with all the slides and stuff on top. So, maybe that will be the next one for us as a group. The Allure OTS was docked next to us in Costa Maya, and she got similar comments from our party.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
The embarkation experience was first class. Everything was handled online, and our group breezed through security at the cruise terminal.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
The food in the My Fair Lady Dining Room (Main Dining Room) was hot or miss. There were some excellent dishes, but overall, it left a little something to be desired, compared my MDR experiences on previous cruises. The Windjammer Cafe (buffet), in my opinion, was better than the MDR. There was nice selection, and items were well prepared and attractively presented. The service in all of the dining experiences was first class.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Being that the Enchantment OTS is a smaller, older vessel, I found the onboard activities to be pretty good. The musical show in the theater followed movie music from the last couple decades, and it was a little cheesy, though well produced. The dancers and singers worked hard to put on a good show, so I appreciated all the effort. I would have liked to have seen a little more variety in this area. The ship did not seem to be at full capacity, so I never felt there were any long lines or activities that we couldn’t get into.
Entertainment

See comment for onboard activities for more detail on entertainment.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The best part of this cruise was the exceptional staff. My stateroom attendant, Theresa, was phenomenal. She knew my name from Day 1 and used it every time we interacted. She was friendly and professional at all times. Andrei in the MDR was also great. He took good care of us and really went out of his way to keep my 3 year old niece entertained during the meals.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
The ship is a little older, and she shows her age just a little bit, but she is well maintained, and it is apparent that crew really works he’s to take good care of her! The cleanliness was first rate!
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
The canin was spacious and well maintained. The bed was nice, and there was TONS of storage everywhere. There were drawers, cubbies, closets, and books everywhere! I was in a stateroom by myself, but it would have easily been enough for 2 people comfortably.
Ship tip
If you’ve sailed on larger, newer ships with RCL then temper your expectations. The Enchantment is a nicely preserved older, smaller ship with a dedicated and hard-working crew. You won’t get all the bells ms whistles of the Oasis and Quantum class ships that you see on RCL ads, but you will get a very nice experience and good value for the money. Be sure to check out the Viking Crown Lounge on Deck 11.
What a beautiful little port town. We got a cheap cab to the town core and walked along the street by the beach for shops and restaurants. There were people giving massages, cabanas, and all kinds of things to see and do. It was a very nice way to spend an afternoon.
We didn’t do much here. We drove in the night before and stayed at the DoubleTree on Seawall Drive, which was very nice. They had a stay and park package for $60, so our friend was able to leave her car at the hotel, and roundtrip shuttle was included for that price for our whole group. My cousin parked his car at the port for the same amount of money. There is a nicely stocked Wal-Mart for any last minute items, and they also carry wine and champagne that you can take on the ship with you.
That’s what we did last year we went on enchantment and this year we’re going on explorer which is the sister ship to Indy we’re excited to try a bigger ship
There are many ships and destinations we have just done our 26th cruise five more sleeps for our next cruise adventure been to amazing places and have amazing memories and meet great people from all around the world ,, happy cruising its awesome enjoy
