Overall it was a good affordable family vacation. We loved the splash area and swimming pools. Service was great. Cupcake classes were a waist of money. And the ship could use a paint job.

Pools were great, rock wall was great, the trampolines were closed most of the time due to wind. We paid for our kids to do a cup cake class, and it was not worth the $. I would not recommend that to anyone.

Layout was fine, but the ship is getting old or lacking maintenance. It’s a bit rusty and one elevator was down the whole time, making the already slow elevators even more slow.

Ship tip
Don’t do the cupcake decorating class. It’s not worth the money!
We did not book an excursion through Royal. We just showed up, found us a taxi, they took us to a resort for the day. We snorkeled, did a tequila tour, drank and ate. It probably saved us $25 per person by not booking through the cruise line. Plan at your own risk level.
