Review summary

One thing I would like to point out is this is my and my wife's 4th cruise on Royal Caribbean. The service was excellent as usual. The food quality on this trip was not. In fact we have noticed a decline in food quality over the last few cruises. The other thing that we were not to pleased with is we were originally going to stop at 3 destinations. Due to the hurricane this was changed to 2. Understandable under the situation. What was not understandable is spending 3 1/2 days of a four day cruise on the ship and only going to Cozumel. We passed Key West twice but did not stop. When in Cozumel we left the ship first thing in the morning got back around 1:00 PM. Then were told that we would be there until 6:30 pm. At that point it was a little late to make plans to do anything we would have liked to. If we know at first we had more time we could have planed accordingly. I understand about time restrictions but I believe either poor planing or cost became more of a deciding factor. With this very disappointing trip it will be difficult to consider Royal Caribbean on future cruises. One other thing is we feel the Windjammer is to small for all the passengers on the ship. It took a very long time standing with your food in hand to find a table.I believe the ship was increased in size some time ago to allow for more passengers. I don't think the other aspects of the ship were increased it allow for the extra people.

Oh I did get a 14.00 credit and wasn't sure what it was for so maybe we did. But nothing more.... We were told a day ahead about the change and we could have cancelled but we came from Nova Scotia and we were in Miami by then. Anyway I love sea days also

I love sea days. Did they give any credit or refund port fees ? I think part of the Windjammer issue is people who park themselves there for hours.

There have been many posts by people whose cruise was affected by weather. There are risks about traveling in hurricane season. Still, when changes happen I wish the captains would give more details and be more open (why not going to a certain port, changing routes, whatever). I think pgalioto that your experience could have happened on any cruise line and not just RCI.

And our course was also changed. We went to Mexico instead of Nassau and we did get to key west. But we stayed at sea the day we were to go into coco bay and that was ok as there was a lot to do on the ship

No due to the hurricane they couldn't come into port. I just got off that ship and I would recommend it to anyone. The food was amazing/service was exceptional in the main dining room. They couldn't do enough for you. I liked the idea of the smaller ship due to the fact, didn't have to go all over the place getting to the shows/entertainment. It was pretty well in the main area and surrounding

There are a few 4 day cruises that only go to Cozumel. I'm looking at one in January.

A ship can not just pull into a port. Key West is not big, and others were probably there. Under the cruise contract, guarantee is for food and lodging and cruising. Not ports. And the chance you take when cruising during peak hurricane season. But, I can understand your disappointment. I would not give up on RC because of weather.
