Review summary

The ship is beautiful. Great cruise Director, Jodi, one of the best we have seen on the seas, very personable. Was nice to have a Culinary interaction with Food & Beverage Executive Chef which included a tour of the ship's galley.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Smooth and quick once inside. The only unexpected issue was the traffic flow getting into the port was poor, but that is not the cruise line issue.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Main dining rooms were decent, wish they had more side dish options for green vegetables. Specialty dining options were outstanding, have not had any better. Buffets provided plenty of options for all types of dietary needs and variety, all of which tasted great. Service from Edgar and Carmen (The Mix and Crooners) was outstanding!! You get personality along with great service. Michael and the entire staff at The Crown Grill - again outstanding, never had a better ship meal. Earon and Franklin in the Almafi Dining room along with Greczy as a hostess - again, all outstanding service. These folks work so hard for you.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
The shows and Princess Live options were great and plentiful for my age group, but not so much for the 18 to 21 crowd. The pools were constantly crowded and unfortunately, the loungers were already booked with towels and clips on them by 7:30 am with no people on them or around. Not managed well. Fitness Center and track all wonderful.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Great entertainers, stage shows and musicians on this ship.

Children's Programs

Had no school aged children with me on this cruise

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Direct service from staff on this ship was great and timely. Our room steward was also outstanding (Thanks Oliver!) The Ocean Now option needs improvement. Very slow service. Took two hours to receive an ordered meal. The Lotus Spa - outstanding service from Millie (nails) and Shakeera (massage)!! Great cruise Director, Jodi, one of the best we have seen on the seas, very personable.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Staff was constantly cleaning surfaces and maintaining them, very clean ship. Access to certain areas such as the Amalfi dining room is broken up (walk across deck 7 to get to dining room on deck 6) is a bit odd in comparison to other ships we have sailed on.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Was outstanding. Love size of bathroom and closet space in this cabin.

Ship tip

Ask about your excursions at Guest Services. Months in advance of sailing, specialty dining and excursions were booked up, but availability opens up. Just wish they had a way to communicate that. We took the risk of booking our own excursions because of this.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida Did not visit port

Stay with family in this area

Princess Cays (Cruise Line Private Island) Did not visit port

Due to winds and safety, this port/stop was canceled, so it became a sea day with extra time at the next port.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

This port was a nice surprise and beautiful to boot. Did not have any preconceived notions about this port. Not enough excursions, lots of opportunity with this one. Family members did a Mixology class out at the headquarters of Bacardi on our own.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

4 out of 5
St John was absolutely beautiful and would go back again and again. Unfortunately, capacity was booked through the ship excursion with no additional capacity provided. More capacity on St John on Your Own would help this.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Quick and smooth, walked off with own luggage
