Review summary

The cruise was certainly an immensely enjoyable experience and a highlight of 2022 despite much of the world’s problems, especially russia’s invasion into Ukraine. The staffs and crews working onboard were the ones that made the cruise so memorable. A few names are especially worthy of mentioning. The assistant restaurant manager Viktor and waiter Jorge at Sabatini Italian Tratoria; waiters Ruel and Enrico at Amalfi; bartender Miroslava at Crooner, waiter Rodel at Capri; bartenders Erica, Jeano, Jun and Anton at Salty Dog Gastro Pub; stage staff Yuriy. Lena of retail beauty and barista Nataliya at the International Café provided exceptionally great service, and it would be wonderful to meet them again on the next cruise.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
We booked the cruise through and received boarding instruction from as well. The boarding instruction did not specify the port we needed to embark. The lack of specific instruction led to our arriving at the wrong port, and wasted time and money to get to the correct port.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The dining options were plentiful; the food and beverage were of good quality. The staff working in the dining facilities were very friendly and courteous.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
The fitness centre and other activities were clean and equipments were modern; certainly enjoyable to use.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The ship's performances were truly brilliant. The performers were talented and the production values were stunning; definitely an enjoyable experience.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The staffs and crews providing the service were certainly the most enjoyable part of the cruise. They were all hard-working and friendly. It's remarkable that they kept a busy work schedule and always had smiles on their faces. One example was the steward for our stateroom, Jun. Our room was tidied multiple times a day and Jun also helped us with anything we needed. Fantastic service!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Common areas were nicely designed and very well-maintained. It was wonderful to explore the ship and enjoy the facilities.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
The size was a main drawback, espcially for 2 people. The stateroom was comfort despite its tiny size. Cleanliness was well maintained by the crew. The only desired improvement would be the galley door. The cabin light was either on or off for the entire room, so there was no option to had a light during sleep except the galley. The galley door does not have a stopper to hold it open. So the door could swing around in rough sea. The door corner was made of sharp metal and rather dangerous.

Ports of call

New York, New York

3 out of 5
Embarkment probably should not be considered one of the cruise's port call.

Boston, Massachusetts

3 out of 5
There wasn't realistic enough time to see much of Boston.

Bar Harbor, Maine

4 out of 5
It was a great location with good restaurants.

Saint John, New Brunswick

4 out of 5

Halifax, Nova Scotia

5 out of 5
Halifax was a great port call. Sadly there was not enough time to explore everything in the city. A 2-day port call at Halifax would have been ideal.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Disembarkment was quite smooth.
