Review summary

For a brand new boat, it was nothing exciting about it. Be prepare to spend a lot of time in their dinning rooms; kitchen and staff are slow. Also be prepared for crowds; boat was designed for smaller more intimate spaces which translates to managed crowds. Unfortunately if the staff is not efficient, it can be very frustrating trying to get service. Don't go for food; food was very disappointing. NE and Canadian Ports were well worth it.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
pre-registration works; fast and easy boarding.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
food was a few step down than before; dinning rooms was sparse and very slow (1hr for breakfast service!); staff was new and poorly trained. They are still working out things.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
Not much there; enjoyed the hot tub and mini golf. The weather was a bit chilly and windy to do much on deck.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Unfortunately a few steps below what is generally expected; performers were second rate and the schedules were poor (only one show; very crowded). Enjoyed the deck bands more than the stage shows.

Service and Staff

2 out of 5
Waiters were always waiting on the kitchen; kitchen was very slow. Room steward was great and cheer things up.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Not sure what they did with the design but the new design has more traffic issues and dead ends. Boat is cut up to provide smaller but more dinning rooms and specialty restaurants. No major path except outside to walk from bow to stern.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Beautiful and larger balcony; room was crowded; was always bumping into the bride trying to navigate between bathroom door and closet. Poor design and much smaller bathroom. Hard to imagine a larger person using their shower; I had to keep the door open most of the time because the bathroom was too small to move around. And this is a premium room!

Ship tip

You have to go to the dinning rooms to get decent food; buffet is pretty boring. Expect a long wait in the dinning rooms; kitchen staff is very slow.

Ports of call

New York, New York

5 out of 5
so much to do in NYC; try the public ferry system for a panoramic view of the City.

Newport, Rhode Island

5 out of 5
Check out the Breakers, and do the Clift Walk (free bus from the port to the Waterfront Clift Walk)!

Boston, Massachusetts

5 out of 5
Big city, lots to do! Check out Mike's Pastry shop in Little Italy!

Bar Harbor, Maine

5 out of 5
Must go to Cadillac Mountain and hike around the town; the shoreline walk was beautiful!

Saint John, New Brunswick

4 out of 5
This was the only port that was a bit disappointing; took a general "photo safari" tour from Princess. Had to travel outside the City to see anything. Seashore was interesting but really the City was just a small town with few attractions.

Halifax, Nova Scotia

5 out of 5
Lots to do in Halifax but you have to hire a car and travel at least 1 hour outside the city. Peggy's Cove is well worth exploring!

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Was easy; just walked off the boat. Didn't even have to show our passports! Went to a booth and they took a mug shot, and we were off!
