Great trip, wish Adventure Ocean was better. This was the first cruise for my 4 children. They loved it, but only wanted to go to Adventure Ocean twice & then they were bored with it. The staff was wonderful all over the ship.

Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
The main dining room was delicious. The buffet was good, but not as good as the buffet on Carnival. Also, we were on a smaller ship so there weren't a lot of food options.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Rock-Climbing was good, the fitness center is nice, the pool was tiny. Some of the game shows were kind of lame. But they did some fun trivia games including Harry Potter trivia.
Pool

The pool is very small, but it is a small ship.
Entertainment

The headliners were good. However, their on-board performers were sub-par. Even my 13-year old daughter mentioned how she has heard better singers elsewhere. It is also important to note that my family walked out of one of the production shows. The show Three is about showgirls and was not appropriate for families. I don't want to subject my sons to women dancing in less clothing than a swimsuit, and I don't want my daughters to see the objectification of women as a good thing. We were very disappointed in the production team and productions.
Children's Programs
3 out of 5
My children did not enjoy the kids club. There was only one room and all the kids were in there together. Granted, there weren't many kids, but my kids were bored. My sons (8 & 5) complained that the one Xbox in the room was delegated for teens, who were never in there. The kids didn't explore the ship or do any super great activities. Not like the website suggests.
Adventure Ocean

Too small. All the kids were in one small room. They didn't have all the fun stuff shown online.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
I can only say positive things about the service we received and all the ship personnel. They were all fabulous.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
The Windjammer was very congested, but it is a small ship (Empress of the Seas), but other than that everything was great.
Cabin / Stateroom

It was cozy...in other words, small. But that's what you expect on a cruise, right? However, it was always clean & comfortable.
Ship tip
Get a chair on the pool deck before they all get taken. Don't expect to get your own ice cream, someone serves it for you and it closes at 6pm. My husband, father, & children were quite disappointed, lol.
I didn't feel like there was a lot for families to do...just mostly shopping and bars. We did walk to the southern most point of the continental US. That was neat.
Beautiful! We went to Daniel Johnson's Monkey & Sloth Hang Out. We did not book this through the ship. It was one of our favorite excursions! We held sloths, played with monkeys, then went snorkeling. The staff there was FABULOUS!! If we're ever in Roatan again we will go back to see them!
Belize is beautiful. We did cave tubing through Cave-Tubing.com "Butts Up." They were fun, reasonably priced, and very helpful and informative. We would book through them again.
We went swimming with dolphins and booked this through Royal. We got the VIP package which included the dolphin swim experience, petting & feeding manatees, lunch, and free beverages. Just like reviewers say, the pictures are outrageously expensive. One 8x10 is $40.
