Review summary
Overall, we enjoyed the Empress of the Seas. They had the best dancers I’ve ever seen. However, there’s not really any location where cruise couples can dance on a regular basis. We never would have thought of going on this ship if it weren’t for the fact that originally we were going to Cuba. But then that got canceled, so we got stuck with two Mexican ports we’d seen already. So we stayed on the ship and relaxed. We did like Key West, however. The ship was packed full because people who booked at the last minute got a really low rate. It was a pretty cheap cruise, especially if you limit your drinking. RC drink rates are very high. Also, there are too many smokers onboard. We ran into smoke every time we tried to walk around the outside deck or sit outside.Embarkation

Ship tip
Go to the Windjammer buffet during off-hours. Or just use the main dining room. The Windjammer is super crowded.
