Food was hit or miss throughout the week. Dinners at mdr were bland and sometimes outright bad. Staff was accommodating though and would let us try something else. We are not super picky, it just wasn’t that good. The food and service at Chops grill were great. Piña coladas and cosmopolitans were delish!

Aaron, our room steward was really nice. Im writing this review almost a year later and I still remember his name. Everyone was polite and courteous.
Ship Quality

Its an older ship, and it shows. There were rusty bolts and smelly areas... our room had some old fixtures in the bathroom that were stained and others just worn. A few small upgrades would make a world of difference. Its a small ship which it made it quaint and easy to navigate. We had a wonderful time.
Cabin / Stateroom

Aaron, our Steward was GREAT. He was attentive and really nice. The room was kept clean. It was a small room but we used it to sleep and bathe so it was fine. The bathroom was not good... rusty bolts, old mold and a burn on the wall made it feel like a bathroom in an old motel.
Ship tip
Eating breakfast super early helps avoid crowds and long waits as theres only one mdr and one buffet for the entire ship.
Leaving the ship was easy. Our luggage was placed on two different sections/conveyors and it took a while to find them, making the trip to the airport a bit stressful. Better organization would serve customers better.
Thank you for your review we are traveling on the empress in November it will be kind of a quickie cruise for us but looking forward to it the empress is older but was facelift around 2016 the deal we got was fantastic for 8 nights not going to pass it up
