It was a wonderful winter get away. Coming from RI it was fantastic having 80 degrees and pure sunshine. So relaxing and rejuvenating, ready to get through the last of winter.

Food and beverages are always excellent on Royal Caribbean.
Karen was our head server and she was friendly and professional.
Quintin was her assistant and he was also friendly and professional. We enjoyed our dinners every night.

Onboard Activities

This was a smaller ship and there was only 1 pool and 1 deck to walk. We had 2 days at sea and unfortunately the guests would put their towels out on chairs and walk away. There was one time we went on deck to get some sun and there were at least 25 chairs covered with towels and only a handful in the pool. We definitely had a much smaller bar tab on this trip.
Entertainment

This trip had 2 comedians that were both excellent. The ship performers also had great shows. Very talented! We often sat in the schooner bar before shows and dinner and enjoyed the piano music and performers.
Service and Staff

One of the reasons we choose Royal Caribbean time and again is the service and staff. Top notch! All friendly and there to assist. Our room was cleaned twice a day and never did we feel like we had to get out of the way. Our steward asked which dinner we were attending and made up our room at night accordingly.
Ship Quality

The Empress is very clean. With the flu running rampart this year, they were very focused on the washing of hands and crew members wiped down the stair railings daily.
Cabin / Stateroom

The room was clean and comfortable. Storage was a little small, but for a 5 night cruise it worked perfectly.
Ship tip
If you are ready to just relax this ship is for you. They have hammocks on the top deck which I had never seen before. Night activities are excellent. My last cruise was on the Oasis. The two ships are very different. If you need lots of different spaces this is not the ship for you. If you like quaint, easy to get around and smaller crowds in general book now.
Chose early departure, self-assist and it was organized and quick as can be. Much better than waiting around. If you don't mind taking your luggage with you it is definitely the way to go.
