Review summary

We had a family group of 8. Had a great time on board Princess Emerald. Boston is an easy embarkation port. We were in our cabins before 11 and heading to buffet. Food in MDR and buffets exceptional. We had deluxe romantic breakfast on balcony. Well worth the money. Would like newer movies in staterooms. Good entertainment. Service in dining areas extraordinary. Cabin stewards took great care of us. Only negative was clearing customs in portland. Princess needs a better process. Overall great experience

Limited outlets in cabins. We always take a temporary power trap so we can charge all our devices.

Ports of call

Portland, Maine

We booked an independant whale excursion. Lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance of pier. Gilberts have the best clam chowder served in a sourdough bread bowl. Only dissappontment was clearing customs. We docked at 9 am and had very very long wait to get off ship. We drew group number 14 as priority was given to those with excursions through Princess. Only 4 agents on board to manually clear 100% of passengers. Princess needs to do better with this process.

Halifax, Nova Scotia

Loved Halifax.. budget rental within walking distance of pier. 30 min drive to Peggys Cove.

Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island

This was our favorite port. Would have liked more time to explore. We did the Anne and Gilbert musical through Princess. This was one of our highlights of our cruise. PEI is so beautiful and peaceful.
