Overall, a lovely cruise. Loved the ports. Ship, food, service all up to par. Our first time cruising with Princess. Would not hesitate to cruise with them again.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Get the Medallion ahead of time - definitely saves you time getting onto the ship.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Botticelli dining room was great - food and service both stellar. The World Market buffet also excellent with broad spectrum of food choices. The pizza shop on the ship was also great - thin crust just the way I like it. Soft serve ice cream, juice bar. Extensive cocktail selection.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Fitness center was clean and had good machines. Wish the running track was longer. Deck 7 had a good track but had to go up and down stairs to go all the way around. The only pool I visited was the Lotus Spa pool which was nice since no kids allowed.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Production shows were good - really good singers. The band that played in the piazza was also excellent with fun song choices. But my only complaint about the shows is that if you're a relatively late diner (e.g.7:40 PM), you will miss a lot of the shows. If you dine early to catch the shows, then you may be forced to come in early from the ports.
Children's Programs
No children with us
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Princess cruises staff always eager to please, courteous for the most part, and try their best to be helpful. Our cabin steward was excellent, as was our main waiter in the Botticelli. Everyone was excellent.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Very clean, staff always cleaning.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Size, comfort, cleanliness of our cabin all good. Glad we got a Balcony stateroom.
Ship tip
Get the medallion ahead of time. Princess Plus is also worth it.
No excursion, self-guided. Walkable to the citadel. Would need to take taxi or tour to see Peggy's Cove. The Boardwalk is long and nice, with good food options.
Took a taxi tour of the island (not through the ship). Visited the Gables museum and heritage place, then Riverdale Cidery and Orchard. It's a lovely island, definitely worth getting off the boat.
Loved Bar Harbor. Rented e-bikes through Acadia e-bikes and biked the carriage roads in Acadia National Park for a few hours. The Island Explorer bus system is also extensive, easy to navigate, and free. Would definitely love to visit again.
Getting off the ship, no problem, but having to waste precious Bar Harbor port hours on Day 7 when we re-entered the U.S.A was painful. Our bike tour was supposed to start at the same time as our appt with Immigration Services. Luckily we were able to get an earlier immigration appt but it was not well-advertised how to go about doing this. The ship staff could have been better about organizing this, esp on a port day.
