This was a "goal" cruise. Loved the itinerary. The ports of call were great places to visit, I just wish I had had more time at some of them.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
The process for boarding went smoothly.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
The food was not as good in overall quality as when we sailed with Princess to Hawaii in 2003 and to Alaska in 2016.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
The on-board activities were as expected. The art on this sailing was mostly abstract, which is not our style. Also there was some miss-communication between the Effy staff and what was printed in the Princess Patter. In the Patter, it was posted that on the last night at sea, the Effy store would have one hour of "The best deals under $500." However, none of the Effy staff knew anything about it and, as a result, lost a potential sale from me.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
The guest group, ,was great. The shows performed by the cruise entertainers were acceptable.
Children's Programs
No kids.
Service and Staff
3 out of 5
Mostly good, especially our waiter for dinner.
However, Maria [from medical] was difficult to deal with while I was ill from food poisoning. The first medical person who helped me and took the lab samples was really nice and communicated well. Maria called the next morning and kept asking me questions to which she should have had the answers. For example, she asked if they had given me a COVID test, and kept asking me about the stool sample--saying that she didn't have it, even though I had told her twice before that it had been picked up the night before. Her curt tone of voice got to the point of rudeness.
Ship Quality

Seemed to be.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
The cabin was what we expected for the price. Our steward did a great job.
I was very disappointed with the lack of communication on the option to take the ferry from Guernsey to Sark. Apparently, if one had not booked an excursion, only the 8 AM ferry allowed one to visit Sark with enough time to look around. You see, there were two ferries to Sark [8 & 10 AM] and two ferries from Sark back to Guernsey [Noon and 4 PM]--and the ship departed at 3 PM. This information was not conveyed in the Princess Patter. I REALLY wanted to visit Sark to do research on Dame Sibyl Hathaway.
