Theater not large enough for the 3000 guests.

Cabin / Stateroom

1 out of 5
Balcony stateroom did not have a couch or a comfortable chair. I'm only 5"6 and the shower was just too small compared to other cruise ships. Our cabin steward was excellent.

Did you not investigate the ship or your cabin Before your cruise? I’m 5’10 and felt it was just fine! If you wanted a couch you should have booked a Mini suite!

Just disembarked the Emerald Princess after a 15 day cruise to Hawaii from San Pedro. Have cruised more than a dozen times but our first time on Princess. We would rate the experience 3 out of 5 stars mainly due to problems with the theatre, showtimes, and a free-for-all anytime dining experience. Because they schedule the early show at 7:45 pm (rather than 7:00), people cue up by the dozens to eat at 5 pm so they can get a seat. In order to get a seat in the theatre, one must arrive at least 45 minutes before the show and every early show is packed. The 9:45 shows are half empty as are the dining rooms for later diners. I counted the seats in the Princess Theatre and I estimate approximately 850 seats for more than 3000 cruisers. We ended up speaking with the Director of Hotel Services, Neville Saldana, and he allowed us to switch from anytime dining to fixed (5:30). It helped solve the dinner issue. One last complaint: no treadmills can be used before 8 am due to cabins below. This makes available equipment for early workout enthusiasts inadequate. I could go on but you get the drift I’m sure: they have a major scheduling problem for meals and entertainment and don’t seem inclined to address it. I am told that this is a Princess policy not just pertaining to the Emerald.

Our experience on Emerald was excellent. I think we are all anxious to hear why your experience was less than you expected.

We've been on the Emerald and loved it. Balcony storeroom we've been in have always had a chair at the desk and a couch by the balcony.

My wife and I spent 12 wonderful days on the Emerald going to Alaska and we have nothing but great things to say about the Emerald and Princess

Did they promise you a stateroom with a couch or you just saw it on photo and just assumed? 3000 guests do not go to the theater all at once. We cruised on Princess several times over the years and have only good things to say. One of our favorites, together with Celebrity and NCL.

We've been on Royal Princess and it was great.

Please add why. We as fellow cruisers and potential Princess customers would like to know.

I had heard from many sources that princess cruises are not as good as it's competitors. Stick with carnival, RCL, or NCL
