Review summary

I have never written a poor review until now. Not just the ship but the company support of their customers is beyond horrible. The ship was just out of dry-dock and did not have towels, toilets, showers or air conditioning. Our room along with several FLOORS did not have the basic necessities in life. Their customer service on board that floating dump was even worse. When asked when we may expect to get a toilet and shower we were told "If you think you have it bad, you should be in our shoes having to listen to all of you". LOL. Are you serious. Today we finally received a call from Princess and was told nothing could be done but thank you for the information. LOL. The ship gave us a $225 credit on board and that is it. Horrible. People: Do not use this company. We have cruised many times on Royal Caribbean and have always been so happy. Good luck if you use Princess. You cannot even use the adult area unless you pay $40 per day extra. Dump!!!!!

I also sailed on this cruise, It never should have sailed when I complained about it to the corporate office I too got a credit that was taken away because I did not use it fast enough. I am disabled and they do not treat people with disabilities nice at all.. Stay away from Princess they LIE to you

Just disembarked Emerald Princess this morning. Spotless, crew were fabulous, food great. Cannot fault them & will be back to sail with them again. And for clarity...I am picky !!

I feel this review is telling false info... Have seen this review many times word for word. Highly doubt a cruise line would sail without toilets haha. Plus the username seems a bit sketchy... Anyways I would avoid taking these to heart and can assure you Princess is a great cruise line.

Thanks for the review, I have sailed Princess 29 times never had a major problem. This is just not right. Ship should never leave a dry dock if they know these problems exist. Sorry you had a bad experience.

Sorry you had a bad experience but no towels, toilets, showers or a/c? NOƒ‚‚ cruise line would be permitted to sail if this was the case! Even your beloved Royal Caribbean. We would never take a cruise after dry dock OR a maiden voyage because of teething problems.

I will never sail on princess again. I am a corporate stock holder of their parent company and am going to put quite a bit of time into writing a letter and providing pictures of what happened to me on the cruise. I just returned from that cruise to the ABC islands for Christmas my cabins steward was good. my balcony cabin was small. fair enough. the shower scalded me three mornings in a row. only hot water. could not make it cooler but it started off warm not hot and became scalding. the front desk laughed at me, three days in a row, when I asked them to fix it and told me I was too sensitive. the last two days I was able to shower in my cabin. I was hopping out of tje scalding water and walking forward to the to the gym for showers from my aft cabin. I had food poisoning multiple times - within 45 minutes of eating dinner, within 20 minutes of breakfast twice and once at lunch. I was vomiting and had diarrhea at the same time. when I complained they asked why I didn't go to the doctor - the doctor wasn't open before nine, at noon or after six p.m. so there was no doctor. the front desk wanted me to explain myself constantly in a very rude tone and they always spoke very rudely to me. like I was a child. also i called to get my safe open at 10 p.m. and was scolded for calling late. i called twice more then they finally arrived at 2:30 am. i had to explain myself to the front desk - that i needed my medicine from the safe. they said that it was too late too call so i called 911 and the doctor got them to come open the safe so i could get my blood pressure medicine but by then i was so upset that it didn't matter, i just wanted to go home. as it turns out, the safe was broken and had to be repaired the next day so I carried my medicine to the beach on Aruba. they did not offer me another place to put my medicine. I asked and they said to keep it with me so I was at the beach with my medicine and jewelery since I had no safe place to leave anything for the day. the bed had a duvet cover, no top sheet and there was a stain where someone had obviously dug in their a** .. and the fitted sheet had blood stains. I asked that they be changed and they were but that really made me upset to have to call them about something so disgusting. the food was beyond vile. even in the crown grill premium restaurant it was a boiled steak that had been lightly browned on the grill - disgusting. if you want food poisoning, condescending customer service. terrible food... take your chances and go on emerald princess. it wasn't a vacation until I left the ship. make your princess love comments. some people are obviously being treated just fine but I was not. this does not invalidate what happened to me. I certainly don't want it to happen to anyone else, either.

I cruised princess in October and found it to be great. customer service was excellent and they were very organized in the Embarkation and debarkation processes. there was no chaos like other cruise lines. I singed royal once out of port Canaveral and they were horrible. the staff had bad attitudes and were just plain nasty several times. I would sail princess over royal Caribbean in a heart beat. I don't trust a review that was copied word for word from someone else's review just for the sake of bad mouthing a company. I can not believe the customer service was as bad a he says. exaggeration for the purpose of attention.

Everyone experiences a cruise personally.  In checking on other reviews for this sailing, there are many positive ones to more than balance out the negatives. I hope that you don't give up on cruising altogether. Better times ahead.

This is the second bad review for this sailing. Surely (hopefully) it was the "fresh out of drydock" problems that seem to plague the industry. I have taken the Emerald before and had a very nice experience and good customer relations -- hopefully it will return to this normalcy.

It is such a shame that your holiday was inconvenienced. Lets hope the issues were "teething problems" following dry dock. There are similar reviews to yours on Cruise Critic so it appears others were also affected.

Wow, sometimes truth is stranger than fiction. How in the world could they take that ship out in that condition?
