5 night Disney cruise aboard the Disney Magic with Marvel Day at Sea. Wonderful vacation for our family of 7, (2 parents and 5 children). Some marvel fans, some Mickey and Minnie fans, but a GREAT time for everyone!
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Embarkation was smooth, waited in line for only about 30 min. After going through security and checking in, while waiting to board there was Mickey and Minnie to great our children. Once we were boarding they announced our family and bread us aboard, very soecial!
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
The 3 dinning rooms in the rotational dinning were amazing, Anamater's Palat was the most Fun! PALO for brunch was Amazing! Excellent food and service! The buffet was good and fresh and was never overcrowded.
Animator's Palate
5 out of 5
This was by far all of our family's favorite restraunt, fun and emersive! (although all of the restraunts aboard were great)
Palo
5 out of 5
Incredible brunch with an amazing buffet of fresh fine foods and hot menu items. Delicious with great service and an amazing view at the aft of the ship top deck.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
My children loved the Oceaners Club and Lab and our tween loved Edge but we were so busy they didn't spend a lot of time there. The sail away celebration, Pitrate Night deck party (with fireworks) were so much fun for all of us. Marvel Day at Sea was the Best (and more fireworks)!
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Great shows and movies. Two theaters and funnel vision playing Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars movies throughout the cruise. 3 stellar Broadway style shows.
Children's Programs
5 out of 5
Oceniers Club and Lab was a blast for my 5 and 6 year olds.
Our 11 year old always wanted to go to Edge.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
This is where Disney really shined! Our room steward was great, friendly, and thorough. He would always remind us of things going on.
Our servers at dinner were the best. They never missed a detatail. Always has our drinks waiting for us when we got to dinner. It felt like our servers were only there for us and not any other tables.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Everything was spotless and well maintained. There was once something spilled in an elevator and they had it cleaned up right away. Disney's attention to detail is definitely their strength.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Our cabin was kept spotless by our steward! Everything was in top working condition. Our family of 7 (2 adults and 5 children) occupied 2 cabins right next to each other for sleeping but when we hung out together there was enough room for us in one cabin. The beds were comfortable and the kids loved the bunk beds.
Ship tip
My advise would be to go to lunch on embarkation day although a lot of advise online says not too, it wasn't crowded and it was a great way to start the vacation and wait for your stateroom to be ready. I would also recomend going to breakfast on disembarktion day, it lets the crowds leave the ship first so you can leave at a more leasurly pace and let's you spend one last sit down meal with your wonderful servers.
Otherwise don't try to do it all, just relax and enjoy!
Vendors are pushy so we didn't venture far traveling with 5 small children, (ages 11 months, 2 years, 5 years, 6 years, and 11 years). I would like to explore more at another visit with just my wife and I.
1st, don't carry on too much, let porters do it for you, everything you carry on has to stay with you until your cabin is ready. 2nd, A lot of online advise says skip the buffet when you get aboard, but I say go to the buffet, the food is great! The Magic is small enough that it never felt crowded. We never had a hard time finding seats at the buffet or on deck and we have a large family (My wife and I have 5 young children). Lastly, don't try doing everything, but don't skip the top deck celebrations, (sail away, pirate night w/fireworks, and our sailing had Marvel Day at Sea) Most importantly, just relax and enjoy!!!
2twisted... This is our first Disney Cruise and we'll be sailing on the Magic in April. Anything we should know or recommendations you can make? We are so excited
