Review summary

Amazing cruise for both adults and kids. Staff is friendly and top-notch. Activities for adults are great - bingo, excursions, and the kids' club (yes - it gives adults the time to enjoy their vacation)! Plenty of opportunities to see the Disney characters in all different costumes. Overall amazing time.

Embarkation

The port in NY is large, the check-in process was quick, and they have special appearances by the Disney characters to keep the kids occupied. Coming aboard is quick & they announce your family name!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
There is a set rotation as well as an open buffet. On the rotation, Animator's Palate was the best one. The food was above par & the walls come alive with drawings. The buffet was good as was the pool-side food. Hamburgers, Schwarma, Ice Cream, Philly Cheesesteak & anything you want in between. Palo (the only "adult" dining space) was absolutely incredible - I've never eaten sticky buns, eggs benedict, & veal all in one sitting!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
As this is a Disney cruise, there was no shortage of activities. Our kids enjoyed the kids club (oceaneer's club) & the pirate and Halloween nights were amazing. As this was the first Marvel Day at Sea, it was incredible. The characters (Thor, Spiderman, Black Panther, Dr. Strange, Red Skull & the Guardians of the Galaxy) were all on board and the show at night was incredible - with full pyrotechnics.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The theater shows were Disney's best - especially Tangled. The DJ at the club (Fathoms) wasn't good at reading the crowd - he played all one genre of music instead of mixing it up. However, the events staff was hilarious and kept the nights going for the adults.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
Probably the best cruise for kids, Disney does kids' right. As this cruise is geared towards kids, the focus was on them and all of the events & venues were excellent

Ship tip

Make sure you download the Disney Cruise Line app BEFORE getting onboard and sharing your guest number with your friends. This was the best way to stay in touch & to see events throughout the day.

Day at Disney. Bus from port to Disney was about 1hr 10mins and had A/C and movies and a bathroom. 9 hours in Disney with 3 Fast Passes per person (who doesn't love Disney?) & we got back on the bus to come home. Amazing service - a magical place.

It is nice that Disney recognizes the adult time and provides the adult only areas.
