I had high expectations for my second Disney Cruise. For the most part, those expectations were met. The food was not the best overall, not even in Palo - one of the two adult exclusive restaurants on board. The debarkation process must improve - I was really disappointed in how bad it was. But, the staff and crew made the difference. I would and plan to book my third Disney Cruise in the future.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
A bit chaotic. There just seemed to be far less organization this time around on Disney Fantasy.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
The food in the main dining rooms ranged from mediocre to excellent. The best meal I had onboard was the prime rib at the evening casual dining in Cabanas.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Honestly we took advantage of this cruise to just relax. We did do a Mixology Seminar that was a lot of fun!
Entertainment
4 out of 5
We only saw one stage show - and we had seen it before. It was presented on embarkation day - a musical mock tour of the ship.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Disney lived up to its very high standard for service. Our waiters and room stewards were simply the best! Our room steward, in recognition of our wedding anniversary, spread rose petals around a swan towel animal one night when we returned to our stateroom!
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Everything was spotless! The ship's design is easy enough to learn.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
The cabin was very clean, a bit larger than I expected. This specific room has a slight obstruction on the terrace that is part of the ship's design. It in no way blocks your view and I felt it offered a bit more privacy. The floor of the verandah needed some "mousekeeping" - there was a large boot mark on the floor - probably from previous ship maintenance. I never got around to reporting it though.
Ship tip
Don't sail during themed cruises if you don't care for larger than usual crowds and children - especially very young children. This sailing was full of them and they made their presence known!
Nothing special. The beach we visited as part of a Port Adventure had a funny smell. The roads were very steep and narrow, and, our tour vehicle was not in the best state of repair.
We took a ferry (Island Girl) past "Crocodile Rock" (not making this up Elton John fans) to St. John and took an Island tour there. Very beautiful and our driver/tour guide was a native and very familiar with the flora and fauna of the island.
The most disorganized debarkation I've ever experienced. No direction whatsoever! It took over two hours to get off the ship. I was surprised. The last Disney Fantasy cruise debarkation was light years better.
