Review summary

Overall a good cruise - safe and clean. Ultimately that is most important. But overcrowded, expensive, so-so food, so-so port activities and not enough physical activity for my son. The biggest reason we went on the trip was to visit Castaway Cay- (friends said it was amazing), we were not able to visit due to weather. Disney said " Oh well that happens a lot." and we were not offered anything in return. Just so you know...

Embarkation

Lines ( as expected), a large lobby waiting rm w/views of the ship, a visit from Pluto for photo op, overall safe and fairly easy.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
All restaurants and food & drink areas were clean and well maintained and managed. The food taste, however, was at best mediocre. Desserts were rubbery and bland. Animators Palate was fun and felt like what I expected for an experience but other restaurants fell short.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Dancing at the Tube, Bingo ( was fun for kids too), loved the ship wide Detective Agency hunt. Wish there were more scenarios. Kids needed more physical activity- pools were often crammed, no room to move and you can only convince your kids to walk around the boat so many times.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Excellent in the theaters. But on deck 11- almost impossible to see the performances due to crowds. Fireworks way too late for little ones 10:15pm. Funnel vision very cool but hard to get a seat.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
Well managed- felt our son was safe and happy going to the Oceaneer Club and Lab first two days.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Always pleasant and eager to try to help.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Super clean. Beautiful ship. But too small for amount of people on board. Activities sold out months in advance of sailing. Pool area too small. Never a chair available to sit and relax and watch your kids as they swim.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Nicely appointed, our attendant was very pleasant, kind and helpful!

Ship tip

Beautiful. Holiday decorations were amazing and great for pictures. Expensive. Be prepared to pay extra costs.

Ports of call

Tortola, British Virgin Islands

We tried to get some assistance about planning, but little help given. We took a taxi to a beach ($) and had to pay to rent beach lounge chairs ($) and umbrellas($). Super overcrowded, not pleasant or relaxing.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

2 out of 5
We were able to get to sign up for an excursion- Coral World. It was an interesting small aquarium type establishment, went on a glass bottom boat ride. Very pleasant. But then went to beach and it was crazy over crowded. Facilities dirty and not well maintained.

Castaway Cay (Disney Private Island) Did not visit port

Weather didn't permit. Kids were disappointed. Offered some additional activities but not of interest to our boys. Not enough physical activity on board- they were cranky and antsy.

Disembarkation

Excellent! Amazingly easy and fast!!

BigHero3 you are correct. Don’t listen to Gormless Gits. Their needs to be some compensation.

Just do you know you never get anything back for missing a port. Apart from port tax and your excursion payement. Read your T&C
