Disney cruises of 3 nights are just way too short to really get to experience all the things the line has to offer. Extremely long character lines meant we forewent one of the big benefits of the cruises.
Embarkation
1 out of 5
Disney’s handling of embarkation at Miami is probably one of the worst, with a small, not very comfortable waiting area. If you’re back-to-back, good luck. The process was extremely disorganized and we were mixed with other guests who were leaving the ship, leading to a lot of confusion among everyone, including terminal representatives.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Solid food in main dining and Cabanas, and the stars of Remy and Palo really shine!
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Great shows, a nice variety of very small pools, and the super fun AquaDuck lead to a pretty good time overall. Character lines are really long though…
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Service staff, entertainment staff all great, friendly, with the Disney magic. Guest services, though, was full of cast who didn’t seem to know their own policies (like not knowing that smoking and vaping is not allowed in any indoor space) and didn’t seem to know how to help.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Despite the cabin being very close to the forward elevator lobby, not a lot of excess noise. Split bathrooms on Disney are the best! And Deck 8 is wonderful to split the difference between the upper and lower public space decks.
There’s no estimated timing for any of the luggage tags, which means it can be difficult to try to adjust anything if your onward travel plans are tighter. Luggage claim is not nearly big enough. And CBP does not use facial recognition for Disney here.
It helps to watch the app for M&G times to get there early to skip the long lines. Miami is a challenging port unfortunately, hopefully they get it straightened out soon.
I’m sure Disney will get this lined out keep in mind Disney is used to the smaller ships porting there so they will be making changes I’m sure thanks for the feedback!
