Review summary

Loved the Dream and Disney, she is amazing. Too short of a trip, if you plan to go on a Disney Cruise, please do yourself a favor and spend at least 4 nights, if not longer. You will be glad you did.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
The process itself was very easy. Because our transportation from Caribbean Beach Resort did not pick us up until 12:15, by the time we got to the port, it was breeze to get through security, get checked in, and to immediately board the ship. It was close to 2pm when we finally were on the ship. The embarkation process was easy. I thought about giving it 4 stars but then realized my reason for giving less stars had more to do with the Disney Transportation services, the embarkation/port staff are great and it was really easy.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Beautiful classic looking ships with all the magic of Disney.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We honeslty did not have a lot of time to do things on the ship. It was quick 3 night cruise. DO NOT just go for 3 nights! It is not long enough. We mostly ate, went to shows, and went to port. My kids rode the aquaduck and loved it.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The nightly shows and character interactions are amazing. The shows are high quality and professionally done. Beauty and the Beast is by far their best show and rivals shows I've seen on land. The character interactions are a lot more person and random magic tends to happen on the ship, like Mickey walking around the ship and taking kids to an interactive painting on the wall. Or Minnie Mouse skipping with my daughter down the halls.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
It is pretty expansive. I love that there are structured activities, but also opportunity for kids to play on their own if they want to. There are also several activities that have a special guest, like Pluto at the Pajama Party that make the experience that more special.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Very attentive and exceptional at making you feel welcome and serving your needs.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Beautifully designed and kept. I really appreciate the inside of the ships is still classic with wood and brass. It is more reminiscent of a hotel rather than a mall...which many cruise ships are going towards. I would rather feel like I am in a class hotel than mall.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
That cabin was great. We had a Deluxe Family Oceanview room with largeporthole window. The window was large enough that you could sit in it...which my teenager and preschooler loved. This room had the Murphy bed, the upper pullman, the sofa bed, and the queen bed. It fit the 5 of us very comfortably. My mom went with us and slept in the murphy bed. She said it was very comfortable.

Ship tip

With all seriousness, if you can...sail for longer than 3 nights so that you get a day at sea. The 5 night is ideal. We will probably not do another 3 night. We have done 4 night on the Dream and 5 night on the Magic. Sail for as long as you can afford!! I really cannot stress enough to try your best to take a longer sailing.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

Nassau, Bahamas

Stay on the boat. My mom wanted to explore and shop. It felt dumpy and not very impressive. I feel like many people share this sentiment about Nassau.

Castaway Cay (Disney Private Island) Did not visit port

So, technically we did visit this port. But about 30 minutes after we got off the ship and onto the island, DCL announced that there was a thunderstorm headed our way shortly. It was supper windy already and not ideal conditions for visiting the beach. Castaway is a lot of FUN normally. however we were not there long enough to do anything, but wait in line with 2000 other people to get back on the trams and into the ship before the downpour happened.

Disembarkation

The customs line was long. We usually use a porter, but for whatever reason did not this time. NExt time we will. They know there way around and how to get through the line better than we do.
