Review summary

Disney Cruise Line has adapted its mission of great customer service to their cruise ships. You are catered to from the minute you step onboard until after you get off. Some people complain about the cost but I am a believer in "you get what you pay for". I have talked with people that have sailed on other cruise lines and then taken a Disney Cruise. Most say they will never go back.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
The embarkation process is so smooth for Disney Cruise Line. The staff was very professional and made us feel at ease while completing the necessary paperwork and security information.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The 3 main dining rooms on the Dream were very clean. The food was hot at the table and very tasty. The menu had many choices each night. The buffet at Cabanas was well stocked with just about anything you could think of.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We spend most of the cruise relaxing. We found places in the adult areas to sit and read a book or enjoy a beverage.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Our room steward was very friendly and attended to our every need. He cleaned our room twice daily and made sure we had fresh towels and bedding. The wait staff seemed to struggle a bit with organization. It almost seemed they were short-handed. Our wait staff did an good job of attending to our needs while onboard.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship was very clean at all times. On several occasions I noticed staff members cleaning in hallways and attending to the smallest detail. Pool workers were constantly supplying new towels and maintaining the decks for safety. Space is used very efficiently on the ship. Disney does a good job of splitting up areas so that young people have their own space as well as adults. Even with 4,000 people on board, there were many times that we entered elevators that were empty.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
This cabin is handicap accessible. There is plenty of room for anyone with a disability. The balcony is spacious to accommodate a wheel chair or scooter if necessary. The bathroom was large and easy to maneuver in.

Ship tip

Don't try to see the entire ship in one day. You are on vacation. Take advantage of the Disney Navigator App and printed schedules to plan your time on board to maximize your fun. Don't be afraid to ask a crew member for anything. They are always willing to help.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida Did not visit port

We embarked from here but did not do any excursion.

Castaway Cay (Disney Private Island)

5 out of 5
Disney's private island is truly a paradise. We had reserved a cabana on Serenity Bay, the adults only beach. We spent our day enjoying the clear waters and just lounged. It was amazing.

Nassau, Bahamas Did not visit port

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
The disembarkation process is very organized. Luggage is picked up the night before and is transported to the terminal early in the morning. Tags are provided to help locate your bags quickly. Meeting Customs and Border Patrol is easy if you don't have much to declare. We were out to our return transportation within 30 minutes of leaving the ship.
