Review summary

Overall, this was a nice getaway with my folks for the holiday. The food was great but it was evident staffing levels weren’t at the level they needed to be at. Many bars and areas were closed at inconvenient times. Also, the layout of the ship was probably the most confusing of all. There is really only one floor to get from one side to the other so navigating dining rooms and getting to the fitness centers was difficult.

Embarkation

Got to the terminal early for check in. That part was smooth since we had done everything through the app. The attendants conducting the check-in were not communicating with each other or making announcements regularly so unfortunately the boarding was not an organized process. Different groups didn’t know when their number was being called without announcements so it just got busy and confusing.

Onboard Activities

Amenities were nice. I tried the spa which was relaxing although noticed there weren’t enough attendants to keep things clean or organized. For example, all lounge chairs in spa had towels and waters next to them but you couldn’t tell if they were being used or someone had left because it wasn’t being cleaned. There were plenty of people at the front desk though trying to sell treatments so that was a bit irritating. The fitness center was fantastic however and loved the equipment choices.

Cabin was fantastic. Ocean view balcony, new, this was the perk of a new ship

Ship tip

Don’t rely on the app for delivery of food or drinks. It’s just not optimized yet and without adequate staffing levels, the orders just weren’t fulfilled.

Yes they put the galley between the main dining rooms. That makes serving a lot quicker but since you can’t walk through the galley, you have to cross the galley on the floor above. Yes a little hard to understand until you see the deck plan. That is a common layout on many ships but I still forget sometimes. But I blame myself for being forgetful.

Wow, I was on this same cruise and experienced none of this. Staff were so attentive and plentiful, and the app was great for ordering (actually the best to date). It's amazing how different experiences and expectations can be.
