Review summary

We were overall disappointed because we missed two ports, the sail they the straits, and lost money $100) when we bought tickets from the Tokushima city festival before, festival excursions were offered. Also disappointed in the amount of the future cruise credit (25% off the fare only), believe a 40% credit is more in line with what we missed.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Long wait to get to the in-processing area, once there it went smoothly

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Superior wait staff, menu was not as I hoped. Starter selection rarely has green salads and a lot of chilled soups. E we liked the choices we had experienced on our European cruise.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Service was outstanding, special thanks to Ikato, our cabin attendant

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Accessing the international dining room was not as easy as we’d had preferred. The design of the four smaller dining rooms made wait time for meeting the timelines of our reservations difficult

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
This is wrong, we paid for an upgrade and were in C327, it was a nice room

TOKUSHIMA, JAPAN Did not visit port

While the decision to skip this port was made a a precautionary measure, it turned out the typhoon did not hit Yokohama and we could have visited Tsushima. All told we only visited half the ports/straits we were supposed to

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
Received minimal support in debarkation

We were on a back to back cruise in 2018. The last night of the first cruise we got a letter from the Captain reading that due to the storm that was coming we would not be visiting any of the planned ports.
